Our client is a market maker and a trusted source for currency data with one of the world's largest historical, high frequency, filtered currency databases. They move billions of dollars.


The Opportunity:

As the Director of Development, you have proven that outstanding achievements can demonstrate your ability to provide your developers with structure, process and measurement. You are a team-oriented, collaborative, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment where you are constantly surpassing your previous results, can assess existing situations and create new approaches to fuel continuous growth. A history of success leading a team of exceptionally smart, motivated, career-developing staff members is essential.

Working with highly talented product management and marketing teams, you will be responsible for leading the development of new features and products that await short and long term implementation to offer expanded business growth. And, you’ll be working with a group of smart people you’ll genuinely like.

Responsibilities:
• Manages and develops multiple development teams.
• Focuses on high quality implementation, provides technical direction, oversees and reviews designs and code, ensures system integrity and scalable architecture
• Works closely with the marketing, product management, testing and performance, and our core development teams
• Enhances strategic planning process by offering insights and plans to management team

 

Qualifications:
• Computer Science or Software Engineering degree
• 10 years experience in Development and at least 10 years managing a team
• Strong and demonstrated project management experience
• Demonstrated experience working in a Unix environment  
• Solid understanding of the Agile software development process and best practices

• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Proud of your work, excited to talk about how you solved hard problems
• Motivating leader who lives by the phrase “let’s go” as opposed to “go”
• Ability to use good judgment in developing world class solutions with the right blend of standards and appropriateness
