Our client is a 5* ultra luxury boutique resort with +/- 50 exclusive villas and multiple à la carte fine dining restaurants in the Maldives.
The Resort is still in pre-opening phase.
You will be heavily involved with the pre-opening activities and will later on be overseeing the day to day kitchen operations of this unique property and lead and mentor a team of passionate multicultural staff.
This role will be reporting directly to the General Manager.
Please note that this position is available for Expats only.
Profile
• 5* high-end luxury and boutique resort experience
• Island or remote location experience
• Pre-opening experience is a plus
• Strong luxury foundation in internationally branded properties
• Innovative with cuisine through both modern and classical techniques, sources quality ingredients and respects local availability
• Very hands-on, still loves to cook and produces food of a high level with great attention to presentation
• Flexible and able to cater to particular guest requests / preferences / allergies
• Comfortable spending longer periods of time on an island location
• Guest centric and willing to touch tables, build rapport with guests
• Can work with and lead multiple nationalities
• A person full of drive who loves and can relay to and follow the vision of this unique company and property
• Able to deal effectively with guests in a luxury environment
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with great eye for detail
• Experience with HACCP Standard
• Good understanding of budgeting processes and cost control
• Hard working and able to work efficiently under pressure
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Dynamic, creative, and energetic personality
• People friendly, sensitive to staff needs and a great team player
• Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
• Excellent people skills and strong motivator
• Positive thinking with a “can-do” attitude
• Flexible working hours
• Computer literate
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
