We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Construction to lead all aspects of construction and capital improvement projects across a growing portfolio of multifamily communities. This role plays a critical part in shaping the quality, safety, and sustainability of each property—from concept through completion. Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of multifamily construction projects, including new developments, major renovations, and capital improvements.
  • Lead planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution to ensure successful delivery of every project.

Coordination & Execution

  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring seamless collaboration among architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Anticipate challenges, resolve issues proactively, and maintain momentum across all milestones.

Financial & Budget Oversight

  • Create and monitor project budgets, manage cost controls, and identify opportunities for efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Negotiate contracts and bids to ensure the best value and performance from partners.

Quality & Compliance

  • Uphold the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance with building codes, accessibility standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct inspections and implement quality assurance measures at every project phase.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Lead and inspire construction teams, site supervisors, and vendors, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence.
  • Ensure clear communication, strong collaboration, and adherence to project goals.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary liaison between ownership, developers, and internal stakeholders—providing regular updates, forecasts, and risk assessments.
  • Build trusted relationships through transparency, responsiveness, and solution-oriented leadership.

Permitting & Risk Management

  • Secure all necessary permits and approvals, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify potential risks and implement proactive strategies to minimize project disruptions.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 3 years focused on multifamily projects (market-rate or affordable housing).

Skills & Certifications:

  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-site construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of multifamily construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in project management and scheduling software.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • OSHA 30-Hour, PMP, or LEED certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
