Director of Construction (Water/Wastewater)

Toho Water Authority (Toho) is hiring for a newly created Director of Construction position. In this key leadership role, the director will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of an already funded 1.7-billion-dollar capital improvement program of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. We are looking for a proven leader in the construction of municipal water and/or wastewater projects looking to make an impact on the local community infrastructure for generations to come.

In this role the director will be responsible for managing the entire construction portfolio and will work hand in hand with the PMO Director to deliver successful projects. The leader will provide strategic operational oversight for the entire program and will oversee consultants and contractors to ensure projects stay on-schedule, on-budget, and maintain quality and safety. Toho currently has over 350 projects planned over the next 5 years including upgrades to all wastewater and water plants in addition to a greenfield wastewater plant.

About the Organization:
Toho Water Authority is the largest provider of water, wastewater and reclaimed water services in Osceola County. Formed in 2003 by a special act by the Florida Legislature, it currently serves over 160,000 customers in St. Cloud, Kissimmee, Poinciana and unincorporated areas of Osceola Polk and Orange counties. Toho currently operates 17 water treatment facilities and 9 wastewater treatment facilities that treats and distributes approximately 51.6 million gallons of potable water and reclaims 34.3 million gallons of wastewater each day. Toho is governed by a seven-member board of supervisors responsible for approving all its operating policies and its $114 million operating budget. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred (extensive work experience in the industry can substitute for degree requirements)
• 13+ years of experience (candidates with significantly more experience will also be considered)
• Background in construction management for municipal water and/or wastewater projects
