Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the founder of a progressive thinking supply chain management and improvement group headquartered in the US, our client creates efficiencies by turning supply chains into finely tuned, high-performance value chains. They are adept at creating measurable business value for their customers through assessment, design, implementation and management of end-to-end integrated supply chain solutions.
The Director of Compliance will be responsible for managing day to day compliance for our client as related to the transport and warehousing of goods. This position will be involved in compliance for imports as well as exports and will interact with both internal and external customers requiring compliance guidance. Will be tasked with ensuring compliance with Government Agencies and AES export activities including adherence to applicable U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations pertaining to international trade with compliance to corporate policies. Will work with Freight Forwarders, US Customs Officers, Custom Brokers, Government Agencies internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to trade regulations.

Background Required:
  • Experience in compliance within the logistics or supply chain industry (5+ years)
  • Knowledge of order fulfillment processes, including supply chain management, sourcing & planning
  • Excellent knowledge of import and export functions within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Excellent knowledge of government agencies including FMC, TSA (ISCMS & IATA) & AES export
  • Knowledge of ISF, classifications, export regulations, dangerous goods regulations
  • Audit experience for FMC, AES, TSA compliance, validation & process improvements.
  • Developed Trade Compliance training programs & materials
  • Ability to develop work procedures and written instructions
  • Ability to monitor, analyze and maintain corporate compliance records, as required
  • Travel: >25%
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Residence: Remote
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Customs Broker License
  • Knowledge of CBP ACE Portal, Veroot, CTPAT CBP platform & OGA platforms
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business law, contracts or related area
  • Bi-lingual
