Director of Case Management

Currently seeking a talented and dedicated Case Management Director for a great opportunity in the Miami, FL area. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of current experience working in Case Management in an acute care hospital and have 3+ years of experience working in a Case Management unit in a leadership role.

Responsibilities of the Director of Case Management

  • Overseeing Department/program evaluation
  • Prepare and monitor department budgets
  • Ensure appropriate utilization of resources, facilities, and services by reviewing admissions, duration of stay, professional services rendered for both inpatients and observation patients
  • Develop and implement programs/activities to optimize the patient length of stay, assures timely patient throughput, and ensures appropriate discharge planning
  • Provide departmental needs assessment; identify goals, develop and implement action plans in order to achieve objectives
  • Maintain current knowledge of governmental regulations, contractual issues, and third-party payor requirements - assures departmental compliance of the same
  • Oversee the provision of direct clinical social services to areas of the Hospital served
  • Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families, and all members of the Case Management team.

Requirements of the Director of Case Management

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
  • FL RN Licensure, or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Knowledge of managed care and capitation
  • 5+ years of case management and discharge planning experience in an acute hospital setting
  • 2+ years in a Director/Manager role over Case Management/Utilization Review
  • Knowledge of managed care and capitation
