Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President - Commercial of an established air cargo carrier with a unique freighter fleet offering reliable time definite service, competitive pricing, and direct access to a global network. The organization’s capabilities include general cargo (free sale & BSAs), charters, and ACMI or Wet-Lease options to meet the needs for their clients’ schedules and destinations.

The Director of Cargo Sales is responsible for the development of profitable air cargo business for the organization with a focus on e-Commerce driven, global, end to end express air freight solutions. The successful individual will be a strategic, visionary, and entrepreneurial leader with strong client relationships, who will implement a business model to help establish and grow the sales division from the bottom up. Will work in close coordination with the executive leadership team, operations, and overseas counterparts to create solutions and long term business relationships with clients. Challenge is to expand account base, increase revenues, and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • International freight forwarding sales experience (10+ years)
  • Excellent knowledge of airfreight transportation (e.g., express, e-commerce, small pack)
  • Sales leadership to include goal setting, client relations, and team management
  • Air freight client relationships with possibility of transfer
  • Strategic business plan creation and tactical implementation to grow business profitability
  • Time, territory, and contact management (e.g., CRM)
  • Bids, proposals, and negotiations
  • Track record of sales success
  • Travel up to 50%
  • Computer literate: MS Windows OS, MS Office, and CRM
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Residence: Greater Philadelphia, PA (Relocation assistance provided)

  • Verticals: High tech, express mail, floriculture, produce, and fashion
