Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales for a leading provider of Contractual Transportation Management, Freight Brokerage and Optimization for mid-sized North American companies.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for the proactive development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and limited participation in startups and transition of project management to a permanent management team. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing, negotiation, proposal preparation and presentation(s) and contract signing. Challenge is to expand account base, pursue and close new business, increase revenues, and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Transportation Sales within logistics industry (4+ years)
  • High achievement orientation, drive to learn and customer centric
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies (proven track record of success)
  • Carrier tariffs, discounts & authorities
  • Computer proficient (Office suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Major Metropolitan Area, USA
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Operational understanding of Transportation Management
  • Consultative Solution Selling
  • Education: College Graduate-BA or BS (Logistics, Marketing)
