Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Sales of a privately held, rapidly growing 3PL supporting one of the largest distributors of produce in the country.
The Director of Business Development will develop a deep understanding of the company’s service offerings to directly generate revenue and drive new business through prospecting, soliciting, client meetings, relationship building, and presenting valuable solutions for supply chain improvements. Responsible for planning and executing direct prospecting activities to grow personal pipeline resulting in new business, increased revenue & gross margin. Actively participates in sales strategy development, resource planning, forecasting & budgeting to align with the company’s assigned market and build strategic relationships to meet the customers’ needs. Director of Business Development will remain agile and knowledgeable of the ever-changing landscape of logistics and assess trends and performance against projections. The goal is to increase revenue and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Progressive responsibility for selling non-asset truck brokerage (5+ years)
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, Refrigerated, Dry)
  • Pricing and margin integrity
  • Negotiations
  • Customer development, profitability & market penetration
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Residence: Cincinnati, OH
