Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the COO of a company that specializes in the home delivery of durable goods (furniture, appliances, building supplies) and the commercial delivery of items that are not suitable for common carriers. Using smaller format truck fleets (straight trucks, sprinter vans), the company deploys world class technology while connecting owner operators and independent contractors with long term and seasonal work assignments. This allows retailers, distributors, and regional carriers to quickly deploy trained and insured capacity for highly specialized in-home and detailed commercial deliveries.
Will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts through consultative, strategic, customer focused selling of all products and services related to in-home delivery and installation. The current focus is on the home delivery of furniture on the east coast, specifically using owner operators to provide dedicated fleet solutions. Will coordinate the complete sales cycle process including suspect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, solutions development, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Challenge is to expand account base, increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Transportation contractual business development (3 years)

  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow business ($5-$7 million)
  • Relationships with big box retailers
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Mastery of sales cycle
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Home Office - US
  • Travel: up to 50%
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
