Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations for a last mile delivery organization that operates in 14 states. Established in 1982, they service thousands of locations a day, has 9 regional distribution centers, focused on a great customer experience. Prides themselves on cutting edge technology, award winning service, and taking care of the people they serve.
The Director of Business Development Will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts through consultative, strategic, customer focused selling of all products and services. Will coordinate the complete sales cycle process including suspect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, solutions development, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Challenge is to expand account base, increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Outside transportation sales (5 yrs)
  • Last mile delivery (5 yrs)
  • Full sales cycle management (prospect to implementation)
  • Ability to engage at the C level
  • Anticipate customer needs and customize solutions
  • Track record of landing “whale” accounts ($1 million net revenue)
  • Travel: 50%
  • Proven track record of targeting, pursuing, and winning opportunities ($3 million run rate)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Residence: Work remote (east coast preferable)
