Position Responsibilities: Reporting to the Vice President of a multi-million-dollar third party provider of global logistics. Services include transloading imported and domestic goods, asset-based dispatch and drayage, full-Service Warehousing and Distribution, ecommerce, and transportation services. Logistics services include, trucking, intermodal dock to dock services, freight consolidation and deconsolidation, and small package.
The Director or Brokered Transportation is responsible for the development, and management of all sales and operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, and channel growth strategies for the freight brokerage division. Will create profitable growth revenue with current accounts, while soliciting new sources of revenue and profit. Also responsible for development and growth of an inside sales team. Manage all aspects of the sales functions including inside sales, customer service, and carrier sales. Will establish and manage carrier relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business unit. Will work in coordination with other company resources, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the business unit, and establish management processes. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability. Ideally someone capable of growing the business by $15mm within two years.
