Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO of a growing, logistics provider specializing in International, Managed Transportation, and Brokerage services.
The Director of Brokerage is responsible for the continued progressive, profitable growth of the freight brokerage business. Will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations/sales of the brokerage business unit. Will develop and implement new strategies, services and tactical business plans to ensure the necessary resources to fulfill customer need and contract obligations. Provide and reinforce strong leadership to all functions of the business and build a “service/customer oriented” culture. Evaluate current operational/sales procedures and processes. Establish and implement new procedures and implement improvements where required. Evaluate all compensation and incentive programs in place and make recommendations, as deemed necessary. Develop sales, operations, and performance metrics for the brokerage business unit. Manage the selection, development, motivation, and retention of the staff required to grow and develop the operational aspects of the brokerage business while ensuring Company Policies and procedures are supported throughout the corporate and branch operations. Conduct evaluation of current teams and provide mentoring or upgrading of the team members as needed. Will remain current on industry trends and provide strategic recommendations to management. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate, and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
- Progressive responsibility managing rapid growth within a freight brokerage organization (7+ years)
- Proven track record in building scalable, repeatable processes and a disciplined, data driven culture
- Sales Management (hire, coach, train, mentor) (5+ years)
- Mode of Transportation (i.e., Truckload, Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed)
- Ability to close and manage large account business
- Ability to drive organic growth through existing accounts
- Experience driving technology and process improvement
- Developed & managed KPI’s (i.e., on-time performance, margin, data integrity, lane balances)
- Travel: 25%
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
