About the Opportunity

An established asset-based transportation provider is seeking a Director of Bulk Brokerage Operations to build and lead a growing brokerage division with a primary focus on dry bulk, liquid bulk, tanker, chemical, and hazmat freight. This role offers autonomy, executive visibility, and the opportunity to shape the future direction of the business.

Position Summary

Lead the growth of a brokerage division focused on dry bulk, liquid bulk, tanker, chemical, and hazmat freight. The role combines business development, carrier development, operations leadership, and long-term strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies • Secure new customers and build long-term relationships • Develop a qualified bulk carrier network • Manage cradle-to-grave freight operations • Create SOPs and scalable processes • Partner with executive leadership on growth initiatives

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days: Build carrier network, develop customer acquisition strategy, generate initial revenue. First 6–12 Months: Build a profitable and scalable operation, expand customer and carrier relationships, establish repeatable processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of transportation/logistics experience • Proven freight brokerage success • Experience with bulk, tanker, chemical, and hazmat freight • Strong carrier procurement and brokerage operations knowledge • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently
