Crop Inputs Procurement

We are working with an ag retail organization seeking a Director of Agronomy Procurement for their team. This role will oversee $150 million in crop inputs purchases, where they will manage all of the organization's vendor management, purchasing, inventory control, and compliance for the agronomy department. This position is a critical role in the success of this company and is, therefore, a key role on the leadership team.

This role will be responsible for

Overseeing all the crop inputs procurement, inventory, and logistics for the agronomy department
Managing vendor relationships and optimizing purchasing strategies
Creating and monitoring budget performance for agricultural inputs
Leading and training staff on proper chemical handling procedures and compliance
Ensuring efficient operations and staffing needs across agronomy facilities
Developing and implementing safety and environmental procedures
Addressing complex customer concerns and ensuring service excellence
Creating detailed inventory and financial reports for internal stakeholders

A qualified candidate will possess the following

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in agronomy, agriculture business, or a related field
5+ years of experience in crop inputs purchasing and inventory management
Proven leadership, budgeting, and product compliance experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills—written and verbal—with a customer-centric approach

Compensation: Base salary for this role is a highly competitive range depending on experience, with an incentive plan that can provide an additional 40% of the base salary
