Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for an agency/owner operator-based company with offices throughout the 48 contiguous states, offering truckload services including flatbed, vans, and specialized equipment. With revenue more than $200 mil, the company has 400 tractors, over 1000 trailers, 75 employees, operating from 82 agent facilities / 3 corporate offices across the United States.
The Director of Agent Development and Sales is responsible for managing their own sales efforts with key accounts and agent prospects to drive new revenue and exceed sales profitability and budgetary objectives for the agent network. Responsible for identifying, recruiting, and supporting a network of outside sales Agents and to maximize yield on the business. Will utilize contacts and network within the transportation brokerage industry to develop and expand network of Agents. Will identify new Agent prospects and follows up on leads to recruit new Agents. Will engage Agent prospects in contract negotiations and financial terms, as well as execute company’s Agent agreements. Will work with other company resources and internal teams to ensure each new Agent is on-boarded effectively, including training on all systems and practices. Will work with Agents once they join the company to identify and secure new business opportunities and to obtain invitations for the company to bid on and secure new business. Will manage Agent retention. Additional responsibilities include building relationships and cultivating additional opportunities with In House and Corporate Accounts. Conduct sales efforts to increase the In House and Corporate Accounts. Will also assist internal and external customers and departments as necessary to increase profitability. Recruit opportunities to increase truck count with Owner Operators, Roll Ups and/or Acquisitions.

Background Required:
  • Owner Operator/Agent Transportation Environment (5 years)
