Director of Accounting

Our client, a global player in design and manufacturing for the automotive sector, is currently seeking a Director of Finance to join their growing team in Troy, MI.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Accounting is responsible leading core accounting operations and strategic financial initiative across teams in the US and Mexico:

• Oversee accounting operations
• Ensure timely, accurate financial statements under US, MX, and German GAAP
• Lead monthly close and account analysis processes
• Strengthen and enforce internal controls
• Manage external audits and year-end financial review
• Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams in US and Mexico
• Monitor and drive key accounting KPIs
• Partner with finance, controlling, and operations on budgeting and forecasting
• Identify and implement financial process improvements

Experience:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA, MBA, or Master’s preferred)
• 12+ years in accounting, including 5+ in finance leadership roles in the automotive industry
• Experience managing multinational teams across US and Mexico (Spanish speaking preferred)
