Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Operations of a growing, non-asset based, third-party logistics provider that specializes in intermodal, less than truckload, full truckload, and specialty solutions.
The Director, TL Brokerage is responsible for the development and management of all sales and operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, and channel growth strategies for the division. Will create profitable growth revenue with current accounts, while soliciting new sources of revenue and profit. Also responsible for development and growth of an inside sales team, account management team, and carrier sales team. Will manage all aspects of the sales functions including inside sales, account management, and carrier sales. Will establish and manage carrier relationships and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business unit. Will work in coordination with other company resources, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the business unit, and establish management processes. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate, and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Progressive sales & operations experience within a non-asset transportation environment (6+ years)
  • Leadership (Interview, Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor) (2+ years)
  • Experience in tactical and strategic carrier sales
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, IMC, Specialized, LTL)
  • Strong Selling Skills
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Pittsburgh, PA (relocation assistance)
