Director of Surgical Services

Our client hospital has 130 beds, all in private room and is the regional trauma center of Alameda County and features many centers of excellence, including neurosciences, orthopedics, rehabilitation, birthing center, imaging, stroke and cancer care. It is also fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

It is also part of one of the largest and most successful healthcare organizations in the country, offering the opportunity for unlimited growth!

They have engaged our firm to find them a Surgical Services executive to take their service line to the next level of excellence.

The Director of Surgical Services  is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the unit manager position.

Qualifications

 

Education/Licensure: 

  • Bachelor's Degree. MSN preferred.

Required Certification: 

  • Current CA RN License; BLS-C &ACLS provider and CPR.

Registration: 

  • Med /Surg National Certification is preferred. If not certified will seek certification in the first year of employment.

Experience: 

  • Progressive management experience, preferred experience with management of multiple departments. Care of the neurosurgical and trauma patient is preferred.

Other Skills: 

  • Studer training. Knowledge of care needs of the adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
