The Director of Supply Chain & Administration is responsible for leading and optimizing the supply chain strategy for the company. to ensure enhanced efficiency, reduced costs, and improved service delivery. This role involves overseeing all supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, and demand planning, to ensure seamless operations that align with organizational goals. The Director is responsible for leading the Georgetown office, and ensuring effective communication and coordination between the site and Georgetown office, on behalf of senior leadership.

Responsibilities
Health and safety
- Encourage and actively promote safety awareness, participate in safety initiatives, and hold the team members accountable for safety performance.
- Coach employees and contractors in the safe execution of tasks, application of the proper work procedures and practices, use of provided personal protective clothing or equipment, reporting of any actual or potential unsafe conditions or activities, mishaps, incidents, accidents, injuries, or illnesses in the workplace and reporting of any defective or damaged personal protective clothing, gear, or equipment.
- Follow procedures related to environmental sustainability.
- Report environmental incidents and support investigations.
- Ensure department’s compliance with the requirement of Guyana’s Government Agencies (Environmental Protection Agency, GGMC, etc.), Health and Safety legislation and company occupational health and safety policies, rules, and regulations.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and organization effectiveness.
- Purchasing Operations: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives and drive cost savings. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract management.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the procurement of high-quality materials at competitive prices.
- Inventory Optimization and Controls: Oversee inventory management practices to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize costs.
- Warehousing Oversight: Manage the warehouse logistics operations, including transportation, cataloguing, and distribution, ensuring timely delivery of products/parts as required by the operations.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess procurement efficiency and effectiveness. Utilize data to monitor supply chain performance, identify trends and drive informed decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, sales, and operations, to ensure alignment on supply chain initiatives and product availability so that procurement processes meet organizational needs.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards. Identify and mitigate procurement risks. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring business continuity.
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing, and potential suppliers. Stay informed about industry best practices and market conditions.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promote sustainable practices within the supply chain to enhance environmental responsibility and compliance with regulations.
- Georgetown Office Leadership: Foster a collaborative team environment, assess office effectiveness, and facilitate communication and collaboration between the office and site. Attend management meetings as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations (typically 7+ years).
- Proven leadership experience in a managerial or director role.
- Experience in managing projects, timelines, and budgets effectively.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and tools (e.g., ERP systems). Experience using and understanding of PRONTO system an asset.
- Solid understanding of inventory management, procurement, and demand planning.
- Familiarity with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong negotiation skills for supplier contracts and partnerships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
