Position Responsibilities:
Will report to the VP of Marketing and Sales, for a premium North American time-definite truckload service provider offering, scheduled-truckload, unscheduled-expedites, warehousing, local cartage, tanker, and drayless cross border services to and from Mexico. With $ 300 million in forecasted revenue, the company has over 1,000 power units, over 3,000 trailers, and over 1,000 employees operating from 11 locations across Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Texas, and Tennessee.

The Director, Sales secures new contracts within the automotive OEM, heavy equipment, and-or tier 1 or 2 market across all modes of the Enterprise. There will be up to three direct reports segregated across the business by mode. Territory includes 11 locations across Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Texas, and Tennessee. The Director will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including suspect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, and presentation(s), start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Challenge is to increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Transportation account executive (4 years)
  • Automotive OEM, heavy equipment and-or tier 1-2 account exposure
  • Sales responsibility for fleet with over 300 power units
  • Proven track record of producing profitable growth
  • Pricing logic & analysis
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook, CRM)
  • Residence: Home Office Environment
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • AS-400, McLeod
  • Operations
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Supply Chain, Logistics or Transportation)
