Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for a leading supply-chain logistics provider focusing on dedicated fleets, brokerage, and warehousing. The company is a growing enterprise with $50 million dollars in current revenue, an asset fleet, multiple agent fleets, dedicated fleets, 150,000 sq. feet of warehouse space, and a growing logistics division. The company operates over 9 locations across the Midwest.

The Director of Sales hunts for new trucking and logistics business. Goal is to initially double logistics revenue. Develops and signs profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts. Researches and identifies potential accounts new to truckload portfolio and converts them into repeated business opportunities with high growth trajectory. Understands the customer's transportation needs and articulates how we can provide tailored solutions to mitigate their challenges. Aggressively works accounts through the entire sales cycle - cold calling, building relationships, qualifying opportunities, and aligning strategies, closing, and onboarding. Responds to spot bid requests with a sense of urgency to secure additional business. Builds trust with new customers through daily account management, regular reviews of service agreements and by re-assuring stakeholders of our continued commitment to the partnership. Travel 25 %.

Background Required:
  • Sales and business development in asset and non-asset environment (5+ years)
  • Proven track record of producing profitable growth in asset & logistics sales
  • Grew logistics through sales & overflow
  • Mid to small market accounts exposure
  • Pricing logic & analysis
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Outlook)
  • Location: Remote home-office environment (Prefer: Minneapolis or Midwest)
