Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP of a non-asset transportation company that specializes in domestic freight. They have been in business for over 30 years and provide transportation and logistics solutions nationwide.
The Director, Sales & Operations is responsible for the management of all sales and operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, and channel growth strategies. Will create profitable growth revenue with current accounts, while soliciting new sources of revenue and profit. Also responsible for development and growth of an inside sales team and division. Manage all aspects of the sales functions including inside sales, customer service, and carrier sales. Will establish and manage carrier relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business unit. Responsible for the development and implementation of an aggressive growth plan of the non-asset brokerage business. Will work in coordination with other company resources, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the business unit, and establish management processes. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead a staff (20+), while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Freight Brokerage Sales and Operations (8+ years)
  • Sales and operations management (Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor, Team Building) (2+ years)
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. FTL, Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, Port to Door Delivery)
  • Strong selling skills
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Grapevine, TX (DFW)
