Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer for a leading logistics provider serving the evolving needs of businesses in today’s same-day delivery world. Our client manages daily routed and on-demand delivery services across the country, with a dedicated team of professionals handling jobs of all shapes, sizes, timeframes and locations. Through deep expertise in the automotive, ecommerce and medical industries, they drive visibility, flexibility and predictability for their clients across the delivery spectrum from first call to the final mile and everywhere between.
Will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts through consultative, strategic, customer focused selling of all products and services for the Home Delivery sector leveraging a network of 23 strategically located cross docks supported by a company owned fleet. Will coordinate the complete sales cycle process including suspect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, solutions development, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Challenge is to expand account base, increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Transportation contractual business development (5+ years)
  • White Glove Home Delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow business ($7-$9 million)
  • Relationships with big box retailers (i.e. home improvement, furniture/home goods, appliances, sporting/fitness)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Mastery of sales cycle
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Home Office - US
  • Travel: up to 50%
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Portable book of business
  • NHDA membership
  • National account level sales experience
  • Sector experience (Durables, Heavy Goods, Residential Delivery)
  • Transportation Management/Managed Transportation Sales
