Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP Safety & Compliance for a regional transportation provider.

The Director, Safety and Compliance ensures that all drivers and support personnel are in full compliance with DOT-OSHA, safety, and maintenance, related policies, practices and procedures. Provides leadership to staff through motivation, direction, review of and feedback on performance, and salary reviews. Constantly works to improve CSA scores. Represents the firm in front of customers, federal and state regulators, and insurance providers. Establishes policies that ensure legal compliance with state and federal regulations. Leads vehicle accident and injury prevention, improving results. Works with all associates to implement consistent policies through education and monitoring. Leads the corporate security policy and procedures. Provides corporate strategy as it relates to vendor selection and technology enhancements. Challenge is to assure compliance of all regulatory requirements and development of one of the safest fleets in the industry. Requires up to 40% travel.

  • Transportation safety management (10 yrs)
  • Fleet size (Min 500 trucks)

  • CSA, FMCSA, DOT, HOS, ELD, and OSHA
  • Accident-Incident & injury investigation & prevention
  • Driver hiring, training & orientation process
  • Computer literate: (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Residence: Home Office Environment (relocation assistance)
