Director of Revenue Cycle

Centrally located in between the southwest Chicago Suburbs and the Quad Cities/Davenport Iowa

Our client is an 80 bed, independent non-profit hospital.

Recently our client received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from HealthGrades, scoring in the top 5% of more than 3,700 U.S. hospitals surveyed. More recently, the Hospital conducted an employee survey and found 86.2% satisfaction on a survey in which 94% of employees participated—both percentages were benchmarks among all hospitals in the survey pool. The Medical Group was also awarded by Arbor Associates for exceeding patient expectations in the medical office setting.

Our client is seeking a successful Revenue Cycle leader to take a great department to new heights of excellence.

The Senior Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for directing and coordinating the overall functions of the Revenue Cycle to ensure maximization of cash flow while helping drive the business and providing outstanding services to our patients.

The Director of Revenue Cycle directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle activities. Reviews, designs and implements processes surrounding pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, collections and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience working with third party healthcare payers, particularly collections and cash applications
  • Strong knowledge of claim adjudication functions
  • Ability to manage third party relationships, particularly payers
  • Working knowledge of finance and reserves
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments to deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability in managing accounts receivable and a track record of high collection/realization rates
  • Advanced knowledge of claims clearinghouses (ChangeHealthcare, Availity, etc.) and 837/835 data requirements
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working with healthcare payers in a leadership role focused on collections
  • Experience in managing accounts receivable with responsibility for Days Sales Outstanding
  • History of building successful internal relationships and executing cross-organizational projects
  • Strong excel skills

Requirement & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Preferred.
  • 10+ years Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience required.
  • 5+ years of medical records experience required.
  • RHIA Certification required
