Director, Patient Services Support & DTP
Position Summary
The Director, Patient Services & Direct-to-Patient (DTP) leads the development, execution, and optimization of patient access and support strategies that improve affordability, adherence, and the overall patient experience. The role oversees patient services operations, direct-to-patient programs, pharmacy and vendor partnerships, operational performance, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in biopharma, patient services, specialty pharmacy, market access operations, channel management, or related functions.
- Experience building and managing patient support programs, pharmacy operations, or access models that improve time-to-therapy and patient outcomes.
- Knowledge of payer landscapes, benefit structures, patient assistance programs, specialty pharmacy, and distribution channels.
- Experience with DTP, cash-pay, e-commerce prescription fulfillment models, or specialty pharmacy operations.
- Strong leadership, vendor management, project management, financial management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy, design, and execution of patient support services and HUB infrastructure.
- Manage vendor selection, contracting, and ongoing vendor performance.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across patient access and support programs.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of patient support programs and specialty pharmacy distribution channels.
- Support development and execution of DTP strategies, including cash-pay and reimbursement models.
- Manage relationships with telehealth providers, pharmacy partners, distributors, and vendors.
- Establish operational business rules and compliance controls for DTP programs.
- Partner with Market Access, Legal, Compliance, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and other stakeholders to support program execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Patient-centered mindset with a strong understanding of the patient journey.
- Experience with data analytics, dashboards, KPI development, and business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of pharmacy, telehealth, privacy, and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Product launch experience and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Additional Information
Approximately 20% domestic travel required.
