Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a leading provider of logistics supply chain solutions globally. Working cross functionally with operations and engineering the Director, National Automation Engineering will be responsible for the design, development and operational success of the automation portfolio within Contact Logistics for the North America region. Will work with key system integrators on the deployment of automation solutions, including Autostore, ASRS solutions, enhanced picking solutions, AGVs, VGVs, ARMs, Conveyers, and robotics. Will assist business development team and customers to create and present automated solutions. Challenge is to integrate and maintain world class automated solutions while managing the integrator relationships and meeting the customers needs, both efficiently and on budget.

Background Required:
  • Sr. Engineering Leadership role managing Automation Solutions or Engineering (8 years)
  • Solutions Development (Project assessment, network and process engineering, modeling, design and pricing)
  • Strategic Pre assessment qualifications, Industry Leading Supply Chain Solutions, Development of automated solutions (i.e. Autostore)
  • Implementation of deliver repeatable, reliable solutions that meet the customer’s expectations.
  • Utilization of new equipment including arranging and managing production trials and testing to ensure successful launch
  • Supervision of engineers, operations, information systems, maintenance teams
  • Support of the reengineering, renewal or scope change requirements of existing solutions by assisting the operating group with redesigns and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate the various stakeholders in the updating and refinement of standard cost factors
  • Ability to evaluate, select and utilize state of the art design tools (CAD)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Location: Home Office, USA
  • Travel: Up to 75%
  • Education: BA or BS (Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Master’s (industrial engineering, operations research, computer science, or related field)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or relevant Lean experience
