Our client is a non-profit, 500-bed acute care teaching hospital. They employ more than 3,600 healthcare professionals and support personnel, have more than 1,000 doctors and dentists on staff at the hospital and treat more than 23,000 inpatients and more than 245,000 outpatients yearly.
They have engaged our firm to help them locate a top notch Infection Control executive to take this critical function to new heights of patient care and accountability.
In this visible role, you will plan, organize, manage, and direct the administrative and operational activities associated with an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program and oversee the Specimen Processing Department.
As the Director, you will:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive health care system associated infection surveillance program based on current CDC guidelines, regulatory requirements, and practice standards.
- Perform and analyze targeted surveillance. Utilize PDMAI principles of the CQI process to effectively improve and identify outcome measures.
- Reports communicable diseases as required by law.
- In the event of an outbreak, conduct an investigation in conjunction with the chairman of the Infection Prevention & Control Committee, CNO, CEO, and other appropriate staff.
- Plan and implement Infection Prevention & Control educational programs for the Hospital and community. Collaborate with managers, physicians, staff and various community members to identify educational needs.
- Update all Infection Prevention & Control policies and procedures utilizing current guidelines, recommendations, federal and state regulations and evidence-based Standards of Practice.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A positive attitude and exceptional detail orientation.
- A BSN and valid New Jersey RN license (Master's Degree preferred).
- Four years' experience in a hospital or acute care delivery environment with a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience. At least 5 years of infection control experience is highly preferred.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control.
