Overview
The Human Resources Director (HR Director) is a visionary and strategic leader that drives initiatives that support the company. organization goals and fosters and positive and productive work environment. The HR Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the human resources department, ensuring the implementation of effective HR strategies that align with the company’s goals. The HR Director role requires a proactive leader as she/he serves as an ambassador of change, introducing innovative HR concepts and practices while effectively managing recruitment, performance review, training, performance management (including disciplinary processes), employment policy and employee relations.

Responsibilities
Health and safety
  • Ensure compliance with company occupational health and safety policies and procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Actively promote safety awareness amongst Company and contract personnel.
  • Actively support and participate in safety initiatives.
  • Report any incidents or near misses.
Environment
  • Adhering to environmental procedures to ensure good housekeeping, resource conservation, spill prevention and the appropriate disposal of wastes.
  • Ensure compliance with company environmental policies and procedures, relevant regulations and all environmental commitments.
  • Actively promote environmental responsibility amongst Company and contract personnel.
  • Actively support and participate in environmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership:
  • In partnership with VP HR, develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership, staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging HR concepts to drive innovation within the HR function.
  • Collaborate with members of the Executive Committee to align initiatives with business goals and ensure HR programs effectively support the overall strategy.
  • Provide leadership and support as required to HR team members.
  • Performance Review and Succession Planning:
  • Advise on the performance management processes including role description drafting, KPI setting, identifying high potential people and the effective conducting of performance feedback to employees to support performance achievement across the business.
  • Lead performance review processes to identify high-potential employees and create development plans to nurture their skills and prepare them for future leadership roles.
  • Implement succession planning initiatives to ensure a robust pipeline of talent at all levels of the organization.
  • Partner with leaders to assess current and future talent needs, develop career paths, and provide guidance on employee development opportunities.
Employee Relations:
  • Advise management, supervisors and employees on Industrial Relations impacts including HR policy, enterprise agreements, employment contracts, and employee relations activities to ensure awareness and effective risk management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters and the point of contact for any escalation of cases at site requiring addition HR support (investigations, accommodations, terminations, legal matters).
  • Provide guidance and support to management for people issues, including disciplinary issues or labor-related issues.
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment
  • Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent. Enhance employer branding and candidate experience
  • Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies, including leveraging technology, social media, and industry partnerships to attract top talent
Compensation and Benefits
  • Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they meet the needs of the workforce.
  • Oversee the administration of payroll
HR Metrics and Reporting
  • Oversee the collection, analysis and interpretation of HR data, including identifying trends, patterns and areas for improvement
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for executive and other stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and clarity in presentation
  • Utilize HR Information System (ZoHo) for data collection and reporting, ensuring data integrity and assist in system upgrades or implementations
  • Oversee benchmarking analysis to compare against industry, best practices and provide recommendations
  • Provide inputs and analysis for HR monthly report to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of people-related operational performance data and analysis.
Training and Development
  • Develop, design and oversee construction of training programs and materials that are engaging, relevant and aligned with employee development needs
  • Facilitate training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to employees and managers on performance improvement and career development
Department / Function Management
  • Prepare the HR budget on an annual basis, including workforce planning.
  • Effective management of internal and external resources - direct reports, third party suppliers etc.
  • Ensure clear communication lines with department management and line supervisors.
  • Actively promote continuous improvement in areas of accountability and more broadly across the business, as and when identified.
Required Education and Training
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources
  • Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 10 years HR experience ideally gained in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Formal training in targeted selection/behavioural interviewing methodologies
  • Previous experience in a generalist Senior HR advisory role
  • Exposure to budgeting and workforce planning processes
  • Knowledge of contemporary HR practices, organisational development and change initiatives
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office and HR information systems
  • Well developed communication, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills at all levels.
