Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP Fuel for a $9.5 billion privately owned food retailer. With over 420 stores and 260 gas stations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, and Indiana.
The Director, Fuel Supply and Distribution oversees the day-to-day operations of the fuel logistics and operations department by developing personnel and tools to keep the stores adequately supplied with the lowest cost fuel possible in an efficient and safe manner through a dedicated 3rd party fleet operation. Responsible for secondary transportation management, dispatch execution and management, supply and cost optimization, terminal relationships, fuel quality and control for 260 convenience stores throughout the Midwest. Primary markets are Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, and Indianapolis. Will be responsible for managing the relationship with a dedicated 3rd party fleet (drivers, dispatch and planning professionals). Manage fuel supply availability and cost of goods optimization, delivery and execution of a safety plan, spill & incident response, KPI analysis and financial performance, and fuel quality response. The initial primary focus of this role is to develop a secondary transportation operation through a third party dedicated fleet by developing the systems, processes and people to execute. This role will have a significant impact on financial performance of the company through management of the dedicated fleet to keep the stores in supply and ensure always delivering the lowest cost product with in the constructs of existing supply deals and arrangements via rack contracts, bulk strategy, or spot deals. As this role evolves this individual will gain incremental responsibility in managing, analyzing and negotiating annual supply contracts and RFQ, and spot deals. Goal is to increase revenues, optimized costs, and maximize profitability.
