Director, Executive Compensation Research and Practice

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Our client is seeking an individual to provide research on best practices, benchmarking and thought leadership in the market in the arena of executive compensation and governance as well as summarize and interpret that research for Subscribers. This position interacts with Fortune 500 CHROs and Heads of Rewards on a routine basis and is in a prime position to stay abreast of leading-edge executive compensation practices. Reporting to the CEO, this individual would focus on the following duties:

  • Compensation Practice and Research
    • Keep abreast of new trends, research, surveys, Subscriber practices and other information that could help educate and inform the Client and its Subscribers
    • Research Subscriber questions and concerns on a wide variety of executive compensation and governance topics
    • Synthesize research and analysis and provide timely feedback and counsel to Subscribers
    • Administer monthly surveys and assist with monthly discussion calls
    • Help develop and implement Client briefings, meetings and trainings
    • Draft weekly Center newsletter stories on executive compensation topics
  • CHRO Impact Series and other CHRO-focused offerings
    • Work with Association leadership to help develop and implement CHRO-only offerings such as CHRO Impact enrichment seminars and Regional meetings
    • Supervise logistics and administrative support for CHRO-only meetings

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of corporate executive compensation and governance practices
  • Knowledge of financial concepts, especially as they relate to company performance and compensation, strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in executive compensation from either the corporate or compensation consultant perspective
  • Excellent research skills and ability to find and synthesize relevant information quickly
  • Ability to take on new information and keep an open mind with regard to evolving practices and policy
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to put technical and complex issues into their overall strategic context for Subscribers
  • Strong presentation skills in front of senior audiences
  • Strong customer service orientation and focus on helping Subscribers be successful in their roles
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet multiple deliverables under tight deadlines
