Director Emergency Services

Our client is a community healthcare provider; a 300+ bed, acute care facility with over 49 specialties and subspecialties, including cardiology, oncology, neurology, obstetrics, orthopedics, urology, wound care, emergency medicine and bariatrics.

They have been recognized by the Joint Commission, Press Ganey and Texas Healthcare Quality Improvment for excellence in healthcare delivery and core measures.

This facility has engaged us to identify and recruit a top Emergency Services Director to take their services to the next level.

The Emergency Department Director is responsible for the overall management and successful operation of the department. The Director will manage a team of 75+ FTE’s in a Level III Trauma Center. The motivated leader will evaluate workflow and daily operations within the department, while creating a culture that ensures high quality patient care, improves employee engagement and boosts morale.

This position:

 

  • Responsible for quality patient care and overall operation of the Emergency Department.
  • Directs the staff and program of the emergency services unit.
  • Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for emergency service programs.
  • Coordinates and oversees the unit’s quality initiatives and improvement efforts while ensuring alignment with organizational wide goals and objectives.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates professional nursing services in accordance with policy and procedures to achieve patient care needs.
  • Collaborates with staff, physicians and administration on nursing issues and interpretation of hospital policies.
  • Develops annual budget and ensures operational, personnel, and capital expenditures are in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected and reports to top management.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Prefers a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience in the field.
  • Management experience is preferred. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Requires a valid U.S. Nursing License with the ability to obtain a Texas License within 6 months of hire.
