Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President for a regional transportation provider.

The Director, Driver Recruiting is a player-coach that develops and implements a strategy to recruit 10 owner operators per month. Determines marketing content, manages advertising spend & defines the most effective marketing channels. Oversees the recruitment and retention of the company, to provide a sustainable mix of safe, qualified drivers in a manner that properly manages cost and maximizes return on invested advertising dollars. Instills a customer service culture throughout the organization & for the owner-operator: build a relationship quickly (over the phone), gain trust in the organization, keep the other party engaged and informed, minimizing “fall out”. Stays on top of trends & shares industry best practices. Enforces tools, processes, and collateral to improve recruiting productivity & effectiveness. Monitors budgets & targets, reports those to the appropriate company executive. Primary duties will include, but are not limited to, answer recruiting calls, maintain consistent, steady flow of qualified driver applicants entering weekly orientation class. Screen and pre-qualify applicants. Responsible for annual requirements related to driver CDL’s, MVR checks and DOT physicals. Travel 20 %.

  • Applicant tracking systems: (i.e., TenStreet, HireRight, TMW, McLeod)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Residence: Houston, Texas (remote home-office environment)
Background Preferred (but not required):
