Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the HR executive for a regional transportation provider.

The Director, Driver Recruiting is a player-coach who leads a team to recruit-seat CDL-A drivers. Works with company stakeholders; HR Director, Safety Director, Sales Leadership and Operations Leadership on overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of driver qualification criterion. Manages time off requests, commission, and annual reviews. Sets weekly, monthly, and annual goals for the Recruiting Department to achieve. Reports on recruiting performance (i.e., scheduled, no shows, hires, etc.). Implement training modules for recruiters. Reviews all driver files and is the final decision on all driver hires. Trains in new employees as Driver Recruiters. Assists in managing advertising and marketing. Keeps track of recruiting metrics (i.e., cost per lead, cost per hire). Works with marketing department in-house to advertise for specific positions-divisions on social media and other marketing campaigns (i.e., e-blasts, call blasts, drip marketing, etc.). Stays up to date with D.O.T. regulations, labor legislation and driver qualifications (i.e., hiring practices, EEOC, FCRA). Assists with new hire paperwork for drivers, rehires and anything pending on DQF file. Researches and recommends new and innovative ways to recruit CDL-A truck drivers. Manages travel for incoming new hires (rotating on-call basis, weekends, and Holidays). Assists in negotiating rates for orientation location hotels, shuttle services and meal options for our truck drivers. Performs other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor. Travel 10%.

  • Driver sourcing, interviewing, hiring, & on-boarding (20+ drivers per month)
  • Managed annual recruiting & advertising budget
  • KPI’s & metric reporting to measure success
  • Purchased advertising & measure lead generation (i.e., social media, mobile app)
  • TenStreet - Applicant tracking system
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Residence: New Ulm, MN (relocation assistance)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: BS or BA Degree
