Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of nationwide open deck carrier that specializes in the transportation of over-dimensional steel and lumber products, as well as other building material. With $55 million in revenue the company has 300 trucks, operating from 3 terminals. The newly started drayage division consists of 30 trucks (lease purchase), with aspirations to grow to over 100 trucks by summer 2021.
The Director, Drayage Sales is a hunter who sells a domestic drayage solution; Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, and implementation planning. Drive key factor performance results (lane compliance, flows, revenue per shipment, total revenue, price increases and margin improvement in a targeted selling environment. Develop specific geographic expertise to generate the right revenue at the right time in the right place to balance and expand our network. Challenge is to develop and sign new transportation accounts.

Background Required:
  • Ability to sell asset & non-asset drayage across the US (5 years)
  • Proven track record of producing profitable growth
  • Strong geographical knowledge (of competition, shippers/receivers, economic trends)
  • Understanding of pricing, lanes, density
  • Time & Territory Management
  • Reporting Processes exposure
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Residence: Houston / Dallas, Texas
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • History of growing a drayage-Intermodal carrier into a larger entity
  • Background selling for an organization involved in Freight Forwarding, Custom Clearance, IMC, Drayage.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
