Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice president, Dedicated Sales.
The Director, Dedicated Business Development is a hunter, responsible for the development of profitable dedicated value-added contractual transportation business to grow a $200 million-dollar US fleet with 1000 power units and 3000 trailers. Accountable for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead research & generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing, proposal preparation & presentation(s), contract signing, start-up & costumer service follow-up after the sale. The challenge is to expand the account base, increase revenues & improve profitability.

Background Required:
- Strong definable Dedicated Contract Value Added Transportation experience
- Experience in multiple modes of transportation (i.e., Van, Bulk, Tank, Cryogenic, Pneumatic, Flatbed)
- Knowledgeable (Port Logistics, Dray, Warehousing, Transload)
- Strong knowledge of the customer base/contacts/market base in Northeast & Southeast
- Ability to excel in non-commoditized expectation environment
- Pricing and margin integrity knowledgeable
- Ability to execute business plan strategies
- Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e., Microsoft Suite: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Power BI, PC Miler)
- Residence Northeast US (home office environment)
- Travel: up to 50%
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (i.e., Supply Chain, Logistics or Transportation)
- Chemical, Hazmat and/or industrial sector, wastewater, hazardous waste experience
- CRM Tools (Sugar)
- Strong definable knowledge of consultative complex sales processes (i.e., Spin Selling, Miller Heiman Strategic Selling, Sandler Selling System)
- Proven background of closing business (average $5 million + per year)
- Excellent communications (i.e., verbal, written, presentations)
- Entrepreneurial
- Ability to deliver growth while maintaining margin integrity
- Sense of urgency
- Team player and contributor
