Our client is a 250+bed tertiary care teaching hospital that serves the region as a Level II Regional Trauma Center, located in North Central Pa. The hospital is nationally renowned for its cardiac surgery program, is home to a state-of-the-art cancer center and other advanced care services.
The Director of the Cath Lab/EP Lab reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and is responsible for planning and directing the Cath Lab/EP Lab. This individual is accountable for enhancing the financial and clinical performance of the assigned areas by building a cohesive team with the Cardiovascular Service line leader, Chief of Cardiology, Cath Lab Medical Director, Department Chairs, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Officer and other interdisciplinary department heads of the respective divisions. This individual is responsible for establishing a positive working relationship with the leadership staff sufficient to encourage volume growth, efficient patient care processes, quality clinical outcomes and information system necessary to support reliable outcomes reporting. This individual has twenty-four (24) hour accountability for all Cath Lab/EP Lab operations located within the main hospital.
Education
- Director must possess a Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Additionally, Master's Degree in business or health-related field is preferred.
Experience
- Must have five years of current cardiovascular administrative experience
- Demonstrated expertise in cardiovascular nursing.
Management skills necessary to facilitate cardiovascular services in assigned clinical areas: Cath Lab, EP Lab, Arrhythmia Center, Data Analytics. Strong analytic skills to appropriately assess problems and needs; present data in a concise meaningful format, and the resourcefulness and sound judgment to propose solutions.
Proven ability to operate in a strategic/relationship building environment. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external physicians. Ability to organize work effectively to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks simultaneously, to establish priorities and distribute effort appropriately among tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity.
Clinical assessment, planning, and evaluation skills demonstrating a broad base of clinical knowledge and patient care expertise.
Demonstrated understanding of health care reimbursement mechanisms.
Excellent written communication skills required to express complex ideas and protocols clearly and effectively to reader. Strong oral communication skills to express ideas or instructions clearly and concisely to faculty and staff, either in a group or individually.
Knowledge of regulations of State, Federal or local programs in order to provide useful advice and information to others.
