Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President a privately-owned 3PL specializing in full-service solutions that are flexible and customizable, designed to adapt quickly to the demands of business and an ever-changing economic landscape. The organization operates across the US and Canada. Solutions include value added warehousing through 6M+ square feet of space, domestic and international transportation solutions and customs brokerage.
Responsible for the proactive development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and limited participation in startups and transition of project management to a permanent management team. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing, negotiation, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Challenge is to expand account base, pursue and close new business, increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Third Party Logistics Business Development selling value added warehousing solutions (Shared & Dedicated) (5 years)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • National and Americas Account Exposure
  • Understanding of Industrial Engineering fundamentals
  • Sector/Vertical’s (CPG, High Tech, Industrial, Retail, Food & Beverage, Life Sciences)
  • Project Management (lead pursuit team)
  • Supply Chain Management software (TMS, WMS, LMS)
  • Computer proficient (Office suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Proven negotiations ability
  • Location: Home office
  • Travel: 50%
  • Education: College Graduate-BA or BS
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Master’s degree
  • Managed Transportation (Truckload, Intermodal, International)
