Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the president of a transportation company that focuses on Truckload, LTL, Pool Distribution, Warehousing, and various brokerage services. Family-owned company, established in 1991, does over $100 million in revenue annually, has strong presence in 5 markets in the Southeast and Southwest United States. Has a culture of transparency, lean management, and a family work environment.
The Director Business Development (Retail Logistics) is responsible for the growth of the retail logistics product line for the company. Leverage past relationships and cultivate new ones to grow overall wallet share of business that complements current business. Individual must have a rainmaker mentality, look at ways to help the company win as the individual looks to meet their goals as well. Person should be versed in domestic modes of transportation, pool distribution, Warehousing, and retail industry. Must work in tandem with operations, finance, and IT to create a solution-based sales model for each client and ensure company can produce strong KPI measured results. Will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts through consultative, strategic, customer focused selling of all products and services for the courier industry. Will coordinate the complete sales cycle process including suspect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, solutions development, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Goal is to increase revenue, optimize cost, and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
- Retail Final Mile/Pool Distribution (3 yrs)
- Ability to grow $5 million in revenue annually
- Develop and execute business plan strategies
- Mastery of sales cycle
- Computer literate (Office Suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
- Residence: Midwest or Southeast USA (Work Remote)
- Travel: as needed to hit sales goals
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
