About the Company

Some HR leadership roles focus on policies.

This one focuses on experience.

We’re partnered with a large-scale hospitality and conference destination organization known for delivering high-touch guest experiences while operating within a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

The organization is seeking an HR leader who understands that employee engagement, total rewards, operational consistency, and culture all directly impact business performance.

This is a highly visible role where HR is expected to influence retention, workforce experience, operational effectiveness, and long-term organizational culture—not simply manage administration.

About the Role

As the Assistant Director of Human Resources, you’ll play a key leadership role overseeing total rewards, employee engagement, HR operations, and associate experience initiatives across the organization.

You’ll partner closely with senior leadership while helping lead day-to-day HR operations, benefits strategy, compliance efforts, compensation support, leave administration, and workforce engagement initiatives.

This role requires someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution.

You’ll be expected to improve systems, strengthen processes, support leadership teams, and create programs that positively impact both employees and the business.

Responsibilities

Total Rewards, Benefits & Employee Experience

  • Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of total rewards programs
  • Oversee benefits programs including health, welfare, voluntary benefits, leave programs, and compensation support
  • Manage the full Open Enrollment process including planning, vendor coordination, employee communication, education sessions, and audits
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen organizational culture and associate experience

This organization is looking for someone who understands that strong employee experiences don’t happen accidentally—they’re built intentionally.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance across HR and benefits programs with federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Advise leadership on policies, employee relations, and compliance-related matters
  • Oversee leave management processes and benefits administration
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships while monitoring performance and service quality
  • Support operational continuity and day-to-day HR leadership responsibilities as needed

You’ll need to be comfortable balancing employee support, operational execution, and compliance expectations simultaneously.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Improve HR operations, reporting processes, and workforce systems
  • Support HRIS enhancements and reporting tool optimization
  • Standardize HR workflows and procedures to improve consistency and efficiency
  • Analyze workforce, engagement, and retention trends to support leadership decision-making
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, budgeting, and total rewards optimization

Execution matters in this environment—and the expectation is continuous improvement, not maintenance.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Coach, mentor, and support HR team members across daily operations and professional development
  • Help reinforce accountability, collaboration, and performance standards across the HR function
  • Support succession planning and employee development initiatives
  • Partner with leadership teams to help create an inclusive, high-performing workplace environment

This role requires someone who can lead with both structure and empathy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience within hospitality, hotel, resort, or similarly service-driven environments
  • Strong background in total rewards, benefits administration, leave management, compensation, and employee engagement
  • Experience designing and improving employee-focused HR programs
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, benefits regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Advanced experience with HRIS systems, reporting tools, and benefits platforms
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence leadership across multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to balance strategic initiatives with operational HR execution
