Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of a third-party logistics provider that focuses on domestic full-truckload van and refrigerated transportation excess capacity.
Director of Account Management will establish, manage, and lead an Account Management team responsible for driving revenue growth within an existing customer base by understanding customers’ business, industry, and supply chain to provide solutions. Will sell diverse services and analyze and leverage market data to identify opportunities for account penetration and growth. Responsible for strategically drawing on unique competencies to demonstrate how the business can be beneficial to the customer. Ability to analyze, create presentations with experience working with customer service, and managing the startup process after the sale. Responsible for building an Account Management team and establishing SOPs, KPIs. Will analyze information to drive continuous improvement across Account Management team. The Director of Account Management will spend the majority of their time working with the existing customers in an effort to grow the business base. Challenge is to build a world class team, increase revenues, and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Strategic Account Management within Logistics (8+ years)
  • Modes of transportation (i.e. Truckload, LTL, intermodal, Specialized)
  • Large Account Management (contact management, relationship building, implement formalized process)
  • Verifiable growth track record
  • Pricing and Margin Integrity
  • Managed KPI’s (i.e. Customer Development, Profitability, Market Penetration)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Location: Chicago, IL
Background Preferred (but not required):
