Director Account Management & Strategy in NY

We are seeking a strategic, client-focused, and digitally savvy Director of Account Management & Strategy to lead a team responsible for driving client success, retention, and growth across key accounts. This role combines high-level relationship management with deep expertise in digital strategy to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Account Leadership & Management

  • Serve as the senior strategic lead across a portfolio of high-value digital accounts.

  • Build and nurture trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders (CMOs, Heads of Digital, etc.).

  • Oversee account planning, goal-setting, forecasting, and reporting in alignment with client objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (creative, media, tech, analytics) to ensure seamless campaign execution.

Strategic Development

  • Lead the development of digital-first strategic plans including customer journey mapping, channel planning, and performance frameworks.

  • Translate business goals into measurable KPIs, and ensure continuous optimization through data and insights.

  • Stay ahead of digital trends and innovation to provide forward-thinking recommendations to clients.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of account managers and strategists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Set clear performance expectations and support professional development through coaching and feedback.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to evolve service offerings and drive agency growth.

Growth & Innovation

  • Identify and lead upsell and cross-sell opportunities, partnering with business development and product teams.

  • Present strategic recommendations, performance reviews, and new initiatives to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Champion the integration of new digital tools, platforms, and best practices across accounts.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of experience in account management, digital strategy, or client services in an agency, consultancy, or digital-first organization.

  • Proven success managing large-scale digital campaigns and client relationships.

  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels (paid media, SEO, CRM, content, analytics, etc.).

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Data-driven mindset with an ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience with Martech, Adtech, or SaaS platforms.

  • Familiarity with agile or cross-functional team structures.

  • Comfortable navigating both B2B and B2C client environments.
