JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Design and Development Engineer in Greenville SC. Our client is a manufacturing facility. The Design and Development Engineer is responsible for designing and development of innovative HV connection systems.

Responsibilities of a Design and Development Engineer includes:

• Development and design of innovative high-voltage connection systems - from the idea to series production (e.g. terminals, housings, charging inlets, charging couplings)
• Elaboration and implementation of new development concepts based on your market knowledge, analyses and future trends
• Coordination of design & development concepts with the product design team, product management and other interdisciplinary functions
• Investigating and introducing innovative manufacturing technologies (e.g. EMPT, ultrasonic welding, automation, etc.)
• Leading root cause analysis using common problem solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.)

Job Requirements of a Design and Development Engineer:

• Very good knowledge in the application of Six Sigma/Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology in the development of technology products and processes
• Experience and knowledge in the manufacturing process of HV connectors (using DFM & FMEA) and corresponding industry standards (e.g. LV 214, USCAR 2, LV 215)
• Very good knowledge of English

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

• Completed studies in engineering (ideally in the field of engineering or similar)
• At least 5 years of experience in the product development of high-voltage connector systems in the automotive environment based on the IATF 16949 standard
