The Design Engineer is responsible to create, organize and maintain customer and internal drawings, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards and assist with component design. This includes transforming initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. The Design Engineer is expected to possess and use knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within this field. The position works in close collaboration with others in the organization, especially Customer Service, Process Engineering and Production. The position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, while working under the general supervision of the Design Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities Produce Auto Cad drawings, cut sheets, and assemblies, custom orders and as required for day to day order needs.
- Work with customer service and end customer to clarify and finalize custom order details.
- Organize and maintain the existing drawing logs & libraries.
- Assist with building prototypes and test units.
- Coordinate internal design needs with vendor suppliers.
- Participate on project teams as required.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar degree. Or a combination of an Associate’s degree, education and industry experience
