Overview

Our client, a growing provider of enterprise-level security and infrastructure solutions, is seeking a Design Engineer to support data center and critical facility projects across the United States. This role is ideal for a self-motivated engineering professional with experience designing CCTV, access control, and integrated security systems, who enjoys working on complex, large-scale environments.

This is a remote, full-time position with limited travel, focused primarily on design, documentation, and pre-bid engineering support for high-profile projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop system designs for data center and enterprise security installations, including CCTV, access control, and related low-voltage systems

  • Support pre-bid engineering, including creating design packages, scopes of work, and technical documentation

  • Review bid requirements and collaborate with internal teams to prepare competitive proposals

  • Assist with bid evaluation, vendor coordination, and award support

  • Create detailed drawings, diagrams, and specifications for client submissions

  • Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure designs translate smoothly into execution

  • Provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through award and handoff

  • Work independently in a remote environment while coordinating with distributed teams

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in design engineering for security / low-voltage / electronic systems

  • Strong background with CCTV, access control, and enterprise security platforms

  • Exposure to data center, mission-critical, or large enterprise environments preferred (training can be provided for the right candidate)

  • Experience supporting pre-bid, design-build, or proposal engineering efforts

  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation, drawings, and system layouts

  • Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, Revit, or similar

  • Comfortable working remotely and managing priorities independently

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, and project teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or related field preferred (not required with relevant experience)

Why This Role

  • Remote, full-time position with minimal travel

  • Opportunity to work on large-scale data center and enterprise projects

  • High visibility role supporting projects from design through award

  • Collaborative, growth-oriented environment with strong technical leadership

  • Chance to expand into data center design work if coming from enterprise security
