Deputy Manager Slag Concentrator

This role based on a beautiful island in Indonesia, working with a mining company.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Ensure copper loss in tailings as per the performance guarantee during commissioning & subsequent plant operations
• Manage the Engineering decisions for Slag Concentrator (SC) along with the Owner’s engineers’ team & the technology supplier
• Conversant with the hazards related to SC & the mitigation measures
• Operation & Maintenance of SC post commissioning in close coordination with the main Smelter operation
• Ensuring no stoppage of Smelter due to lower availability of SC
• Optimize the specific consumption of water, power, reagents & consumables based on best-operating practices

Requirements for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical or Chemical engineering with at least 15 years of relevant industrial experience in engineering, design, OEM selection, managing construction, and Operations of Concentrator plant, especially in the Non-Ferrous sector – preferably Copper Smelter
• Prior experience in managing Concentrator plants in Asian Non-ferrous smelters or other Indonesian-origin plants will be an added advantage.
• Expertise in process technology, engineering, operations, maintenance, shutdown management, troubleshooting.
• Previous experience in managing a high-value project (>USD 1 billion) would be preferred.
• Knowledgeable in subcontract management, including project controls, configuration management, risk management, schedule, and cost control.
• Commitment to safety and a desire to maintain our Indonesian Copper Smelter operations to world-class international safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
