Delivery Driver

Our client in the Georgetown, Guyana area is recruiting for a permanent resource to fill the position of Delivery Driver.

This role is a full-time position. One must possess the ability to work retail hours including days, nights, weekends and special events on a shift system, in a fast-paced work environment

Job Summary:

Ensure customer satisfaction by transporting packages in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. This includes handling, securing and the delivery of customers' packages, while adhering to assigned routes and delivery time schedules. Review orders before and after delivery, to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied

Job requirements

• Operates under tight deadlines, drives a vehicle to customer sites, climbs in and out of a delivery vehicle, and walks up and down stairs as required, to pick up and deliver documents and packages, to and from customers, according to established procedures, in all weather conditions;
• Ensures the Pickup, handling, and delivery of time-sensitive documents and packages safely and punctually, considering traffic patterns, alternative routes, traffic regulations, and driving conditions to meet customer and Caribbean Airlines Limited time requirements;
• Use navigational technology to find and follow optimal routes;
• Ensures all delivery material received, is safely delivered to correct consignee;
• Operates a Scanner to record shipping and package information for documents/packages picked up or delivered;
• Maintains good work habits, including reporting to work on time and adhering to standard work and safety procedures;
• Maintains the standards associated with the Jetpak Service Level Agreements and;
• Contributes as a member of a high-performance team to ensure KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are met.
• Performs other duties outside the normal scope of responsibilities required to maximize efficiency, productivity, teamwork, customer relations and enhance the entire company operations.

Job Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of three (3) CSEC/CXC/GCE passes, two (2) of which must be English and Mathematics
• A minimum of one (1) year experience performing a similar function
• Must have a valid Driver’s Permit to include class P and Heavy T with a clean driving record
• Must complete Defensive Driving course
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Word and MS Excel
• Forklift Certification would be an asset.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• In accordance with immigration laws, the incumbent must demonstrate his/her legal right to work in the assigned jurisdiction or
• Qualify under employment requirements to obtain said right.
• Meet pre-employment Medical, Background and Security requirements.
