Job Description

Flybridge Staffing is currently looking for a 100% Remote Data Engineer II (Direct Hire, Not a contract). This person will need to understand the broad data architecture of the entire system and will deliver functional, complex products with direction and oversight. The DE2 is responsible for building and maintaining optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting by respective departments. The DE2 plays an analytical role where they perform ad-hoc analysis of data stored in the business’s databases and writes SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and views. In this position, the DE2 troubleshoots data issues within the business and across the business and presents solutions to these issues. They proactively analyze and evaluate the business’s data pipelines in order to identify and recommend improvements and optimization.

Essential Functions

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL (Python) processes, data pipelines, and data dictionaries between our production systems
  • Build and maintain data integrations with third-party systems
  • Develop guidelines, standards, and processes to ensure the highest data quality and integrity in the data stores residing on the data repository
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for automating relevant data processes
  • Prototype internal data utilities to enhance and support various business units
  • Understand the various technologies and frameworks in-depth, and how to combine them to create solutions to enable the company’s business processes with data pipelines
  • Participate in technical design of features with guidance with intention of feature ownership
  • Collaborate with the software engineering team to ensure proper change management for ETL processes and data models
  • Focus on attaining expertise in one or more areas (e.g., AWS Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, ETL pipelines, Data Modeling/Architecture, Machine Learning, BI visualization, etc.)


  • Demonstrable, progressive experience as a DE for two or more years
  • Extensive relational database knowledge (specifically PostgreSQL)
  • Integrating/consuming data from third-parties
  • Working with sensitive data in a healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with DevOps (AWS Suite, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.)
  • Working in a team environment using agile sprint methodologies and tools (Jira, Git, Zoom, Slack, etc.)

Ideally has experience in/with many of the following:

  • SQL
  • Python
  • AWS Suite (RDS, EC2, IAM, Cloudwatch, etc.)
  • ELK stack
  • Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Logi, etc.)
  • Agile, Scrum, Kanban processes and methodologies


  • Healthcare domain knowledge
  • Integration platform as a service (iPaaS)
  • Professional experience using programmatic ETL and/or workflow automation tools (AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Glue, Spark, Airflow, Luigi, etc.)
  • Elixir
  • GraphQL
  • HITRUST, SOC, HIPAA knowledge
