As part of their continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Data Center Electrical Commissioning Project Manager (Cx PM) to join their dynamic team.

This key position will work alongside internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of commissioned data center projects, providing high-quality service to clients.

Focus:

  • Lead and manage the electrical commissioning process for data center projects, ensuring compliance with operational requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams to facilitate commissioning activities.
  • Conduct design reviews, including evaluation of Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), and construction documents.
  • Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Perform site observation visits during construction, providing detailed reports and identifying potential issues.
  • Develop project-specific test scripts, including installation verification checklists, functional performance tests (FPT), and integrated systems tests (IST).
  • Oversee on-site execution and witness functional testing of electrical systems.
  • Manage resolution of commissioning issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Work around live electrical components, three-phase AC power systems, direct current (DC) power systems, and fire alarm systems.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (5+ years in MEP construction, commissioning, or project management).
  • Extensive knowledge of medium voltage (MV) gear, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, static transfer switches (STS), power distribution units (PDU), and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Experience in hyperscale data center design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and system sequences of operation.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in high-stakes commissioning environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive solutions to complex commissioning challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively document and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and NFPA-70E compliance.
  • Certification in building commissioning (preferred but not required).
  • OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety required; OSHA 30-hour preferred.
  • Ability to travel 50-70% for project-related commissioning activities.
